Our Japanese made Sword maintenance 'kit' contains the following items:
One large white silk covered Uchiko ball. (item 'C') Loaded with filtered genuine Japanese Uchigumori stone powder.
Japanese Uchigumori stones and the powder created by their use are to be found only in Japan, not in Korea. Ireland, USA, Brazil, Iran, Pakistan, England, Iceland, or China ((repeat: ONLY JAPAN). Their powder and genuine Choji Oil are the two best materials for cleaning and maintaining Japanese blades.
Your choice of bottle (F-1 or F-2) 'Choji' is a special blend of rust inhibitors.
Nuguikami. (# E ) 2 large sheets of special hand made cleaning paper.
One small plastic container (D) designed to hold the oil application cloth.
Brass Hammer designed to remove mekugi pins.

Other companies offer sword 'maintenance kits' and likewise, claim they have the best buy.... etc, etc,, but careful inspection will reveal that in their effort to maintain a low price, the brass hammer is often removed and most provide only the small oil bottle. Further, a major supplier of kits because Uchigumori powder is not available to them, are using (believe it or not) 'talcum powder' in their applicators.
We did however find several Japanese retail suppliers selling the same quality kit as ours at prices that average $65.
